The Report Builder can be used to export data to an Excel Spreadsheet as well as to a printed report. This gives additional flexibility so that if Crozier Chorale™ does not have the exact output you need you may well be able to achieve it with Excel. Whereas printed reports are limited to a maximum of eight fields, there is no limit to the number of fields you can export to Excel. The grouping, sorting, alignment and column width can also be set up before you export the data.

In much the same way you can use Report Builder to make a selection of fields for use in a personalised letter written in Microsoft Word. You can choose to start a new letter using an existing Word template (such as your school or department's headed paper) or merge data to an existing Word document. In either case the list of fields selected using Crozier Chorale™ is immediately available in Word for insertion into the letter. You can thus send a personalised letter to any selected group of pupils, e.g. all the pupils of a particular teacher.
